Obesity may interfere with prostate cancer screen (Reuters)

A woman walks along the boardwalk in New York September 4, 2007. (Lucas Jackson/Reuters)Reuters - The test commonly used bulk dmae bitartrate screen men for prostate cancer may be more likely to miss tumors in obese men, a new study suggests.

People ask me all the time about protein powders for protein shakes.

Here's the deal. Whey protein may be made made from the cow that is usually not organic, and therefore it contains antibiotics and bovine growth hormones. Not the best choice at all.

Soy protein may be made from genetically modified soybeans. So that's not the best choice either.

In my personal and professional opinion, the winner is "Goatein" Protein Powder, by Garden of Life. Since it comes from the goat, It is easily digested, great for anyone who is lactose intolerant, and contains all of the 8 amino acids that our bodies need and can't make on their own. It tastes great too. So it's perfect!

I personally use Goatein every day, and so does my husband. Here are two simple and delicious smoothie recipes that we have several times a week in the morning: In the Magic Bullet (yes, it works well.....) or any small blender, mix:

My Favorite

5 strawberries (cored)
1 banana
1 scoop & 1/2 of Goatein
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

His Favorite

1 orange
sliced pineapple
1 banana
2 scoops of Goatein

Add coconut water or pure bottled water to it. You can buy coconut water at any Whole Foods Market or maybe even supermarket nowadays. I usually buy the ZICO or VITA brands. Then just blend, and wow ~ so good!

Sometimes I also add a dash of cinnamon spice to it. Tastes great, and great for slashing blood sugar!

That's it! Nutritious and delicious!!
